What does the pink slip inspection cover?

The purpose of annual registration checks is to determine the roadworthiness of a vehicle, which has an impact on passenger safety. What happens after the pink slip inspection?

If your car passes an e-Safety Check (Pink Slip), the safety check report is electronically sent to the RTA by our mechanics. Then we help you Obtain a green slip (mandatory insurance). We can also help you renew your registration online, by mail, by phone, or at your local MVR.

However, if your vehicle does fail the pink slip inspection, there’s nothing legally binding you to get those repairs carried out at our auto shop. You can pay your $42 and you can take the car home or you can take it to another mechanic. But it’s in your best interest if you let us repair the vehicle for you, because not only will this prevent you from some extra legwork but our dirt-cheap auto repair service can save you some money as well.

If your vehicle fails an eSafety Check or Pink Slip Inspection, ES Auto Tech will prepare a report enlisting the needed repairs. You can then have our mechanics perform the required repairs or take it to a technician of your choice, but they must be completed within 14 days of the report expiring.

You’ll need to have another eSafety Check when the repairs have been completed, either by ES Auto Tech or the workshop you choose for repairs. If you return the car to us for the second eSafety Check within 14 days, there will be no additional expenses to have it rechecked. Of course, you are free to drive the car to any eSafety station, but the technician doing the vehicle check will charge you a new safety check cost.
